Just a little update on the project me and Charlene are doing. We have been trying to come up with a kind of mini company called (a bit tentatively) play-o-logy. A big part of the work has been to come up with a manifesto or set of ideas about what we are trying to achieve. The best way to describe it is that we are aiming to explain complex ideas through play. We want to ultimately build a giant space but this term has been primarily about research so getting to know our target audience, looking at materials we could use and talking to people who can help ie architects, medical experts and teachers. I took some photos of the small models and texture experiments I've been doing and was trying to re-create an Endoscopy in 3D. I would quite like to try and do a small film of this...
We also made a little book called 'what do you know about?' which is for children to fill out as part of research to get to know them better. We have a workshop planned in January in a primary school so we can use these then and we have also designed a set of activities for the children to do so they can learn the process of digestion.
